26/365 "Leapin Lizards!"

Nothing like discovering those little surprizes children can leave lying around. Especially first thing in the morning when you are about to hop in the shower.  Have to admit, this little dude gave me a bit of a spook when I opened the shower curtain.  Nothing wrong with a little excitement to start the day!  Maybe its a sign.

25/365 "Beezy at Work"

I have a nice view of some Sunflowers growing outside the window at work.  Saw this little guy busy at work and figured I would work on my close ups..I like the way it turned out!

24/365 "Happy Trails"

This is an Ornament at a local Mini-putt, I am sure this fella has had several layers of paint over the years.  The place has been around for ages!  I wonder if he has always had the same coloured clothes painted on him?  Well, off he goes with his Giannormous Treat...and I need an Ice Cream now.

23/365 "Left Field"

Took the dog for a walk, on our way home we went through the Outfield of a Ball Park.  This weathered sign is the distance marker - I liked the crackle effect in the paint, it almost looks like it was meant to look that way.  Looks like someone tagged the sign with a stencil of a Skull. Too bad I didn't find this one on day number 249  :O

22/365 "Tri-view"

Was my oldest sons first day of School today , so proud of him.  He wasn't nervous at all - he went last year already for JK, but this is huge...its SK!!  Caught this swing photo opportunity on my way back to my truck.  Thought it looked neat.

21/365 "Lil Slippers"

Despite the cooler weather we have had, there is still some floral life hanging around.  I believe these are Lady Slippers.  I didn't notice at first, but I now see the little insect hiding out.  Getting the hang of the close up thing.

20/365 "Arachnolayer"

Came across this interesting web while walking through the woods with my sons.  The Spider made a funnel type thing, looks like he would hide out in it until his prey came along.  He was there when I first discovered, but then bolted as I got closer.  Would have been so cool if I could have got it in the picture as well. Might go back and see if I can!

19/365 "Rusty"

One of my favorite sports in my younger years.  I remember shooting hoops none stop, anywhere I could find a backboard and net..rain or shine.  This relic, like my B-Ball skills...has become rusty.  I think its time to go get a Basketball and rediscover something I enjoyed so much.

18/365 "Mr. One Legger"

Ya, its a Seagull picture.  Whoop Dee Doo!  But seriously, there was some inspiration behind it.  Oddly enough, I have never just taken a picture of a Gull, they are EVERYWHERE.  Nothing unique about them, and we usually find them quite annoying.  Pooping all over the place, they are noisey, they attack us for our french fries..the list goes on.
But in my 180 efforts, looking at things differently.  I saw this guy sitting on a sand bar - no pooping, no noise making, no french fries in site.  He was just relaxing and enjoying the wind and the waves... the last days of Summer.
I can almost gurantee I am going to miss Seagulls in 3 months from now - when the lake is frozen over, the snow is flying...and its -20 C.  There was certainly nothing annoying about this guy today.

17/365 "Game Over"

Summer sure headed out early - from extremely hot and dry weather..to instant Autumn.  Ahh..life in the north.  This Scoreboard will be sitting idle until next year!

16/365 "Hey Skipper...look what I found!"

It was supposed to be a 3 hour tour, and I believe they departed from Hawaii?  How the heck she landed up in my neck of the woods is beyond me..lol   Too bad the tarp wasn't off, would have made for a much better picture.  I don't even think this Ol' Girl is remotely salvagable, not sure why someone is holding onto it - might have some keepsake value to it.  I don't imagine it will be around for much longer - especially after another winter or two of exposure to the elements.

15/365 "Lil' Zoomers"

While trekking around the woods I found a few patches of these Fungi growing, thought I would experiment with some close up pics.  I liked the way it turned out, I think I will start taking some more.

14/365 "Holy Tree!"

Although the weather didn't co-operate for fishing, I managed to camp for a day - took a little walk on Sunday morning and go figure...Church was in the woods!  Nice to know God is always looking out for you, even when camping.

13/365 "Weekend on its way"

I always enjoy a bit of time at the Waterfront here in town - nice view of the lake and the weather.  The white caps on the water and the dark clouds rolling in...an indication of what the long weekend was going to be like - from a weather perspective.  It sure landed up being cold, windy and wet for 3 days.  But I still enjoyed the down time.

12/365 "Not a Totem"

This is a Sculpture called "Le droit a la difference". It was made to demonstrate the concept of difference by not being just one of the forms it suggests: Column, Totem, Beacon, Tree.  By combining several materials, it underlines the interdependency of all minorities.  Together, differences form an equilibrium as fundamental as an ecosystem.  Arm in Arm, they create a dynamic that can move a mounitan and unleash the vital forces necessary to evolve from the stone age to the age of enlightenment.  So thats what the plaque beside it says anyhow...lol

But seriously, I understand what it signifies and I find it to be a very interesting piece of artwork. It always catches my attention when I am down by the lake.

11/365 "Unconditional"

Pic didn't quite turn out the way I had hoped - will try again some other time - or Photoshop the crap out of it.  But anyways, this is my Pup...13 years of unconditional Canine love.  Shes my full time family right now.

10/365 "It is everywhere"

I took this one under the Overpass Bridge. Graffiti covered concrete and dried up Vegetation - and this little guy managed to poke through and blossom.  Says a lot of things for me - but one thing in particular would be the fact there is beauty and good in everything..if we just look.  I have put some extra focus into that lately.

9/365 "Tired"

Sometimes it all gets a little too much - I get tired, feels like my wheels in motion have come to a stand still.  But I have ways to bounce back...and I always do.
